Spring has arrived and it’s time for garden parties, planting parties, birding parties, hiking parties and even wine and Girl Scout Cookie parties! There’s no better place to celebrate than in Rappahannock County. Find extraordinary wining and dining, hiking and biking, and art workshops and exhibitions, After a day of fun, relax in the comfort of a bed and breakfast where you can step just outside to enjoy night skies ablaze with stars. Enjoy it all on the Rappahannock County Artisan Trail.

Make a mosaic together in this Child and Adult Workshop. Come have some fun, and take home a lasting memory. This workshop is for an adult and child (or grandchild). Together you will create a mosaic picture using pieces of pre-cut glass. It’s wonderful to see what beautiful things the children make. All materials and tools are provided. All four wines entered in the Governor of Virginia’s wine competition won medals this year. Now you can try each of them in our Governor’s Cup Wine Flight!! This includes the 2013 Nebbiolo and 2015 Delfino Rosso that won Gold and the 2015 Petit Manseng and 2016 Petit Verdot that won Bronze! Bill & Aleta Gadino recently poured the Gold Medal Wines at the Governor’s Cup Gala where all Gold Medalists were honored. $8 for this flight ($5 for club members). Open: 11:30 am – 6 pm on Sat. Attend guest artist reception with Elaine Krauss from 11 am to 2 pm and admire her magnificent watercolors, on display through April 30. Kevin unveils new work from Virginia and his travels elsewhere in a three-artist exhibition at Gay Street Gallery. Also featured in the exhibition are colorful and bold still life and landscape paintings by Elizabeth Geiger and striking wood sculptures by Jeffrey Cooper.
Kevin is a member of New York City’s Salmagundi Club, the oldest association of artists in the U.S., and one of his Virginia landscapes currently is featured in an exhibition at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach, Va. Open 10 am – 5 pm daily except Tuesday.

Journey is a duo exhibit featuring Nancy Brittle and Phyllis Northup. Brittle says of her oils,” My paintings are reflective of places and experiences I have loved as I travel physically, emotionally, and artistically.” In her watercolors, Phyllis Northup captures breathtaking broader views as well as intimate perspectives of the forest floor. Make a fused glass Egg suncatcher! You’ll receive a clear egg shaped base and may decorate it any way you wish with small bits of clear colored glass that you assemble mosaic style.
