Black Friday Events, on November 24, 2017:
Black Friday Holiday Gift Fair at Narmada Winery! Avoid the crowds and shop small, and stay for a wine tasting, and delicious Indian tastings menu. This is a great opportunity to find unique gifts for all the special people on your holiday shopping list, handmade by some of our local Rappahannock County Artisans. Among other local artists, Trail Members Jennifer Webb and Gina Irwin will be participating in the Fair with their fused glass and jewelry. You’ll find jewelry, crafts, Tupperware and more while you relax and enjoy Narmada’s delicious wines and live Christmas music by John Tole.
Live Music at Rappahannock Cellars! Mark Clay, 1-4 pm. Tasting room open 11:30 am – 5 pm. Enjoy Rappahannock Cellars’ absolutely gorgeous tasting room and award winning wines.
Start your holiday season with Gray Ghost Vineyards! Enjoy one-day only gift specials and live music by Valerie Von Fange: 2:30 to 4:30 pm on Friday, November 24, 2017. This is the perfect event to entertain guests! The world’s largest Christmas display made entirely from corks will open on Friday, November 24! The display will remain up for viewing through Christmas Eve. The tank room then goes back into winemaking activities, so the display is not available to see after Christmas Eve. Please plan your visit accordingly!
Live Music at Griffin Tavern! Local favorites Madonnas in a Field will be performing their distinctive blend of bluegrass-americana in the pub from 8 – 11 pm. Madonnas in a Field are reminiscent of Gram Parsons, Jerry Garcia, Michael Hurley, and Jonathan Edwards, but very much stand in their own right by putting an unusual twist on folk music.
Come for dinner, stay for the music. Griffin Tavern is a gem of a restaurant, and a local favorite in Rappahannock.
Blue Ridge Artisans in Sperryville, VA is open from 12 noon – 5 pm. This lovely gallery and shop, with two working artist studios on the premises, is the perfect place to find that special, one-of-a-kind gift. Come browse jewelry, ceramics, fused and stained glass, prints, hand-dyed yarns, hand-painted silk scarves, woodworking, oil and acrylic paintings, all created by local Rappahannock County artists!

Live Music at Griffin Tavern! A favorite at Griffin, Vinyl Tracks, will be performing in the pub from 8:30 – 11:30 pm. Vinyl Tracks, which evolved from the Beatles-tribute band Glass Onion, is a classic rock band based in Front Royal, VA, that dishes out an eclectic mix of 60s, 70s and 80s music from a song list currently at 200+ songs and growing.
Come for dinner, stay for the music and dancing. Griffin Tavern is a gem of a restaurant, and a local favorite, in Rappahannock. Well worth a visit ~ we bet it will become one of your favorites, too!
Blue Ridge Artisans in Sperryville, VA is open Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm for Small Business Saturday. Shop their fabulous collection of local fine art and crafts in their gallery full of unique gift items, including jewelry, ceramics, fused and stained glass, prints, woodworking, hand-dyed yarn, hand-painted silk scarves, oil and acrylic paintings. All created by local Rappahannock County artisans.

Wine Boot Camp at Little Washington Winery from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm (tasting room open from 11 am – 5 pm. You could call this Wine 301 – an advance class on all the basics of wine. Spend 2 hours with Little Washington Winery and they’ll turn you into a certified wine snob! Led by their wine maker, Carl, this seminar is the snob free zone in plain English all about wine. Learn how to achieve aeration perfection, how to behave in a restaurant, and all the tidbits about wine nobody will tell you. The session includes a molecular pairing experiment with a sandwich, a chocolate pairing session & the Dirt Road Wine Tour.
