Annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour!

This coming weekend is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) arts event in Rappahannock County, VA: the Annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour. 2017 marks the 13 year of the Tour, which is organized by the Rappahannock Association for Arts and Community.

This year’s Tour is this coming weekend, November 4-5, 2017, from 10-5 both days. Not only is it one of the biggest events in Rappahannock County, it’s one of the great events in Virginia.

More than 100 artists (many of them Artisan Trail members) participate in the Art Tour, and many are nationally and internationally recognized with awards to their credit. Artists present original works at 8 galleries and 30 studios scattered throughout scenic Rappahannock, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. The artists’ creative works include painting, sculpture, pottery, glass, forged ironwork, jewelry, textiles and photography.

The Tour begins at the Old School House located at 567 Mt. Salem Ave in Washington, VA 22747 where you will be able to view representative artwork from all the studios and galleries and pick up a map with driving directions to all the locations. Click here for a map of the School House area. There is a $10 per person admission at the door that covers both days.

Plan Your Visit

The Tour takes you through the beautiful countryside of Rappahannock County. Please arrive early so that you have time to visit all the studios and galleries of your choice—the School House Gallery opens at 10AM both days. Although most visitors come for one day, touring the galleries and studios could easily take two days. Make your visit a weekend getaway and stay at one of our celebrated B&Bs, guest houses and inns.

All net proceeds raised by the tour will go to the Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund which provides grants of financial assistance to artists of all ages, in all media, and to art organizations.
